Green recovery of the Black Sea
Description

Map of environmental problems in the Ukrainian part of the Black Sea and the coastal area in the wake of the Russo-Ukrainian war (February 2022–April 2025).

Affected industrial and infrastructure facilities are shown in two ways: three-dimensional symbols for the most affected facilities and a honeycomb-patterned color scheme for the number of affected facilities per unit area. The risk of damage or disruption is shown with hatching or a colored band along the coast. Numerous impacts are discussed in the Black Sea: sightings of dead or injured whales and dolphins, impacts on the ecosystem from military activities, possible oil spills in the sea, and changes in shipping and fishery. Background information includes, for example, data on the military situation, export corridors, and topography.
